Signed up for three rides today. I’m now committed to Outriders (June), both days of GSW Tri state (Sept), and the NBW TFCE (also Sept).
TFCE should be good, even if it isn’t the TFCE (I was told the GSW Tri state was flatter). Regardless, it’s pretty flat in any case. The literatures says they limit it to 1800 riders! And it sells out! That’s a lot of riders, but there are so few rides on the south shore.
I did the GSW last year. I signed up for both days this year and that will let me choose either day or go for both. They cut off registration about three weeks before the ride, so there’s no telling what the weather will be ahead of time. I could do both days as well, but I’d have to find somewhere to stay overnight in the Portsmouth/Hampton Beach area.
I did Outriders last year, too. The problem there, of course, is finding somewhere to stay in P-town for one night. Most places have two or three night minimum stays required. They’re expensive too. Still some time to sort that out though. I stayed in Truro last year which was actually okay. The cabs are inexpensive, so the only real difficulty is riding back into P-town with a backpack (containing a kryptonite lock) the next morning after the 130 mile ride the day before.
