New wheel tryout
After a week and a half of rain, yesterday the shine shone, so I at long last I got to try out my new wheels. What a difference. I think it added at least 1mph to my speed if not more. Probably more.
One thing I noticed is they are silent, nothing but tire noise. No spoke whoosh, nothing. It takes some getting used to since now all I hear is the r.der. which makes me think it’s out of line, since it’s not something I normally hear. I did stop to adjust the f.der. in Carlisle the again in Lexington after I’d overcorrected it. I think it’s spot-on now.
I’m looking forward to my next century to see what it does over 100 miles. Of course, the next scheduled one is the Quabbin, which muy hill filled, so maybe that won’t be the best test!
