Longsjo
This coming weekend is the Fitchburg Longsjo Classic, the 2d oldest bike race in the US (second to Somerville, NJ). I’ve never been, but I think I’ll go to check it out. The train schedule to Fitchburg sucks, though. The criterium is on Sunday, but the earliest train out there is noon. Thursday is the time trial, friday is is the circuit race, Saturday is the road race, and Sunday is the crit. I’d like to go for at least part of it. Thursday and Friday look best. As Monday is July 4, $client may be taking Friday off in preparation. While I’d really like to see the road race, I’m not sure I’d be able to get there. It’s a little unclear whether you’re allowed to take bikes on the train that day (being close to a holiday) and the road race goes a fair bit out of town, so I’d need a bike to actually get to the race. The other days, the race goes right through town.
