$250
Apparently, I raised enough money in the last Tour de Cure to be awarded with a $250 gift certificate to Lands’ End. This is unexpected, and I don’t quite know what to do with it. I’m mostly an Eddie Bauer Outlet kind of guy, and I don’t see that Lands’ End sells any sort of sporting goods although I do see some Polartec stuff.
I’m not sure I’m entirely comfortable with getting “prizes” for raising charity money. It seems counter productive to me unless the “awards” are donated by, in this case, Lands’ End. If that’s what it is, then I guess it’s okay. Last year, I got a windbreaker thing and I was told those were donated by Bristol-Myers-Squibb, so maybe these are donated, too. I still don’t know what to do with it though.
I note Christmas is coming up. Or maybe I could keep it until next year and raffle it off to raise money for next year’s ride. Maybe among those who donate $50 or more get one entry for each $50? That’s an idea. It’s a gift card, so I think I could just hand it off to whoever wins. I wonder if they’d let me split it into two $100’s and a $50 and get three prizes out of it.
Then again, there’s a cashmere flat cap.

Nothing says “stylish European old man” quite like a cashmere flat cap. However, you may want to consider a dashing raincoat for a certain furry special someone.

Actually, he’s already got a yellow slicker!
He absolutely hates it.

Hehehehe, why does the fact that he hates it not surprise me? I can almost picture the look of humiliation on his puppyface when wearing it…

What, no GORE-TEX for Todd?

Well, I think the real question is ‘how much is enough’?

Ask not how much is too much, ask… wait, that quote is falling apart. I just can’t imagine a world in which it’s possible to have too much Gore-Tex.
