I came here from Florida, so this is much closer to what I'm used to. The Blue Ribbon style (in spite of their claim to be Carolina style) is, in my mind, much more KCMO style. And as much as it pains me to say it, Blue Ribbon has the better beans by far. I've never stopped in Newtonville or Nonantum, though I pass through Nonantum on the way to W. Newton. It looks like a sort of generic 'burb to me. I haven't been to Washington Square in ages. The Lobster place (<a href="http://www.brownslobster.com/" rel="nofollow">Browns</a>) is very good but it's just a clam shack (although a big one). Just remember to go inside to get the steamed stuff, and inside inside to get the lobster. Don't stand in the lines outside, that's all for fried things. It's not big on atmosphere, but it has a nice view of the saltmarsh and <a href="http://www.fpl.com/about/nuclear/contents/about_seabrook_station.shtml" rel="nofollow">nuclear plant</a>! re: BBQ.

It was pretty good. (Though being from Nashville, I really miss dry barbeque with vinegar and you know where this opinion leads...). I was bumming that I ate too much grits and so was too full to try the pecan pie. Though I guess that means next time I am out at Harris, I'll be eating pie and trying the hotlinks! It is a bonus situation for the spin out to Harris. I noticed a fancy looking pizza place (branding wise) in Netwtonville that might be worth checking out, and it seems like there is plenty to eat/find in Nonatum (neighborhood just north of W. Newton). I've stopped a few times at a bakery there mainly for the bakers swell accent and wedding cookies. I guess it is really apparent that I bike to eat. Considering treking to the Lobster Place you recommended on the North Shore this weekend. And one more thing: the Publik House in Washington Square currently is serving fried pumpkin ravioli. I've been at 256M ever since 256M was considered a lot. The last time I did a major PC hardware upgrade might have been to play Quake III. LUCKY!! ;^)
