His Secret Life / Le Fate ignoranti
Antonia’s (Margherita Buy) husband is killed by a car and, in going through his things, finds he’s been having an affair for the last seven years with Michele (Stefano Accorsi) and, indeed, had a whole separate life, not just an affair. Antonia eventually comes to accept Michele and his gaggle of friends, and they come to accept her.
The film, while well done, is very light entertainment with a sort of movie-of-the-week quality to it. Certainly well worth watching, especially for some of the interplay between some of the characters, but nothing is really gripping or dramatic. Not that I was looking for Drama, but most of the characters are not all that compelling. Accori (and most of the cast) are some fine eye candy, but that’s about as far as it goes. Pleasant, not great.
Rating: C; would not watch again.
