Mrs. Brown
Queen Victoria is distraught for years following the death of Prince Albert from Typhoid. Enter Mr. Brown, a highlander who, through various touchy-feely stuff, gets her back to her old self. I’m not big on chick flicks, generally, and while this was a good movie, it’s not one I’d make a real point to see. Still, the acting was good and I particularly liked the guy that played Benjamin Disraeli. He looked and behaved exactly the way I always pictured him looking and acting. The photography was good, but, frankly, not as good as it could have been. Using Monarch of the Glen as a model, the Scottish scenes could (should?) have been way more lush.
Rating: C; would not watch again
