ADA reception

Went to the ADA reception in Newton last night. It’s tough getting there. You have to take the Green Line all the way to Riverside then call the hotel for a shuttle. The problem is the station is in a little ravene and there’s no cell service. Luckily there’s also a bus depot there with pay phones. Or maybe Virginmobile (Sprint?) doesn’t have any cells outside of the city. Who knows. I’d have biked, but you can’t take bikes on the Green Line. (I actually agree with this, there’s really no way it would work.) Maybe a folding bike would work in this case. It’s about two miles from the station to the hotel. I suppose I could walk if I knew where I was going. Busy roads out there, though.

Saw Faith, of course, and Nancy, Merle, and Naomi. Had some cheese and got a nice certificate. One guy had a spin-a-thon the Saturday before and raised $60,000! Impressive! Smaller turnout than last year, but it was hard to figure out how to RSVP.

I did find out, though that there’s a whole volunteer website at the ADA. Who knew? It’s supposed to have some very useful things there. Now I just have to think of YET ANOTHER user id. Why do they require 8+ characters? I just want my name.
