Murderball tournament this weekend! Unfortunately, the weather looks like it will prevent my attendance. I could either go Saturday in a driving rainstorm, or Sunday when it’s 100 degrees colder. Hmpf. I wonder if there’s a bus that goes there. … It doesn’t look like it. Stoughton and Brockton aren’t even on the T’s list [...]

Cool. It would be awesome if they could run the TTT through the Channel Tunnel!

Antonia’s (Margherita Buy) husband is killed by a car and, in going through his things, finds he’s been having an affair for the last seven years with Michele (Stefano Accorsi) and, indeed, had a whole separate life, not just an affair. Antonia eventually comes to accept Michele and his gaggle of friends, and they [...]

No, not that B2B, the good kind.
From an email:
2006 B2B ride will be on Saturday June 17, 2006
Registration opens this Sunday (January 15th).
Of course, that means I now have to make a choice between this and Outriders. Then again, Outriders seems to be pooping out a bit. The organizers are getting tired and no one [...]

A woman (Uma Thurman) is left for dead when her wedding is attacked and everyone is massacred. She wakes from a coma four years later and sets out for revenge. I liked the different styles of filmmaking presented in the movie, but I thought it was a little weak on plot. I had to [...]

Ultracycling: Larry Schwartz Year Rounder award
A century a month. I could almost do that. Jan and Feb are tough, though. But I did 12 in 2004 and 9 last year, but they weren’t spread out over 12 months. In fact, there were three in September alone. Hmm, the rules say:
a rider may make up [...]

Yes, they have. My rebuilt replacements/extra pair of Neuvation M28s Aeros are here. Except it turns out that the rear wheel is not a M28Aero, it’s an R350, which, apparently, is an R28 with better bearings. Plus, they came with already installed rim strips and a set set of skewers. Yay! I think these [...]

A fantastic French film noir where everybody dies at the end. A tubercular jewel thief,Tony le Stephanois (Jean Servais), gets out of lockup and decides to go for one last heist with three others. The robbery of FRF 240M takes about 30 minutes in the film and is completely successful. It’s a gripping 30 [...]

What a twisty little movie this is! An obnoxious, drunken man, Dae-su Oh (Choi Min-sik), is kidnapped and held prisoner for 15 years with no clue about who is holding him or why. Then he’s suddenly released, again, with no explanation whatsoever. The rest of the film is his seeking revenge. He’s helped along [...]

Perhaps the most recognizable 1950s era monster, he holds up well as these things go. As everyone knows the story is a take on Beauty and the Beast. It was originally filmed in 3-D and it would certainly be nice to be able to see it in 3-D. I wonder if there’s some techincal [...]

Took a little ride around town to do some shopping. Total was about five miles, probably. Spun around Downtown Crossing for a bit, then over to Petco f/k/a Boston Pet next to the Galleria in Cambridge. Totally uneventful except for the jackase in the Gold Denali who was leaving the Galeria parking lot and [...]
