We should all get t-shirts that say “smug”.

    I wonder how many zipcars $7800 would rent in a year. Hmm… let’s see…

assuming a full-day rental, the cheapest I can find is $60/day (but there are only two fo those), the most expensive is $93. So that’s between 130 and 80 days rentals a year. The one I usually get is $68/day, so that would give me about 115 rentals per year. But at least with a zipcar, I don’t have to find parking, so that gives me an extra few years of life from avoided aggravation.

So I could rent a zipcar up to 50 days a year and still get a sweet bike once a year. But considering I only get a car, maybe 10 full days a year at the very most, I still come out way ahead. Most of the time I get it for only a couple of hours at a stretch, and even that’s not very often (mostly for running big things to and from storage).
