Riding

Took a couple short rides this weekend.

Saturday I went to a BBQ at a coworker’s place. Yummers! Friday I bought 18 ears of corn at the farmer’s market, but on Saturday I couldn’t find my backpack to carry them down to West Roxbury. So I took some cheese instead. That means I still have 18 ears of corn sitting here.

Sunday I lazed around the house for a bit, then took a short ride to Concord, coming back via Trapelo Rd. (Basically a variation of the northwest variation.) I got back to the Esplanade and decided to see if anything was going on at the Hatch Shell. There was: the India Day celebration. (India’s independence day is Aug 15.) So I got dinner there from one of the several booths. “Meat Combo” which was goat in a greenish brown sauce and chicken in an orange sauce over rice. Yummers times 2.

When I got home and entered in my mileage, I realized that the last time I had the mountain bike out was last December. I haven’t had it out once in 2006. Hmmm… I guess MTB riding just never took. I’m reluctant to get rid of the bike because, well, I just reluctant to get rid of bikes period. But really, am I going to use it? I suppose if I got a Burley trailer or something I could haul the dog around, but do I want to buy something else when the dog probably wouldn’t like it much anyway. (He’s the only dog I know that doesn’t like riding in a car. He gets in and lays down on the floorboards and tries not to get sick.)

What do to… what to do.

I’m with you on the not-selling bicycles angle…too many memories, I guess!
