Right Ho, Jeeves by PG Wodehouse

[amazon] [MBLN]

Another fun distraction between classics.

Bertie returns from vacationing with Aunt Dahlia and Cousin Angela only to be summoned to Market Snodberry immediately upon return. Gussie Fink-Nottle is trying to ask for Angela’s hand in marriage but having a tough time of it. Tuppy Glossop’s engagement to Madeline Bassett is off. No, it’s on. No, it’s off. Or is it? Aunt Dahlia lost big at baccarat and her magazine will go under without a bailout from Uncle Tom who is sulking over quite another matter. Bertie steps in to remedy everyone’s problem only to have Anatole, the best cook in the whole wide world, hand in his notice sending the inmates of Brinkley Court in to fits of apoplexy.

This is, perhaps, one of the best Wooster & Jeeves books around. Gussie’s speech and Aunt Dahlia’s “Attilla the Hun” wind up are not to be missed. This one has it all. Plus, a bicycle features prominently at the end.
