How to Dress for Cold Weather at Commute by Bike

I think Nick has it about right, although I’d add another level at 20 degrees (especially when the wind kicks up) which would include some real tights, especially the wind breaker type (rather than thermals) and a neoprene face mask in place of the balaclava. But he also says the coldest it got was in the teens. What he’s got is fine for commuting, but if you’re going to be out in the teens for a lengthy ride, you’ll need a little more than what he’s got, especially if you’re in New England.

Ack! That guy’s so cold his skin broke off!

So, what do you wear on your commute? Slippers?

Heh. I got one of those at the fair, but it doesn’t have the forehead part. I got one of these, though.

I have to walk the dog before work, so I do actually have to get dressed. At least for a short time.
