I’m not having a good day

Construction on one side of me is trying to destroy my building.

Construction on the other side of me is trying to destroy my living room.

The bar on the corner kept me up until 2:30 this morning.

My tire exploded in the hallway loud enough that my ears are still ringing.

Lunch sucked.

Client is thinking about redesigning the entire project I’ve just killed myself to deliver.

And in the mail today, I got my first solicitation from AARP.

Is this the same bar? I thought that got closed down. Then again, that’s probably what the construction’s all about, isn’t it? Gah.

I’ve got a client doing the same thing to us. “Hey, thanks for building that site. We don’t like it anymore. Start over.” $#@!

Don’t sweat the AARP thing, I’ve gotten stuff from them before. They just fire off mailings at random and hope to tag some geriatrics.

There are two bars. The one on the corner, and the one next door. The one next door is the one that was closed. The new owners are now taking it down to the studs for renovations. We share a wall.

The one on the corner is part of a big local conglomerate. Full of 20 and 30-something drunks.

The construction on the other side [warning: audio] is a 13-story “ultra-luxury” apartment building. Worst builders ever. It will be a miracle if anything near them remains standing when they’re finished.

Holy hell, that sounds like a nightmare. You have my sympathies. I’d invite you for a quiet visit out to the lower burbs to get away, but Henry would probably have something to “say” about that.

Not much of a difference whether you’re awakened by drunks, jackhammers or babies, I’m sure.

This is rich: “You know who you are. You know what you want. That’s why the Bryant is for you.”

    Gee… thanks?

$250 round-trip Non-Stop Boston to Seattle. Come ride the Chilly Hilly with us and leave that Boston noise behind! Fresh air! Mountains! And all the boys head to toe in Gortex that you can possibly imagine…

Sounds like VACATION TIME TO ME. ;-)

    It’s very tempting…
