Hookie
After a zillion weekends of cold and rain, it was over 90 today, and I wasn’t *cough* feeling well *cough*. But I made a miraculous recovery and went for a ride.
I was planning on doing the CRW Apple Pie route, but couldn’t find the start, so I headed to West Concord for lunch. Made my usual wrong turn and ended up at the suicide rotary and MCI Concord and had to brave my way through it to get back to W. Concord. From there, went to S. Acton and on to Stow where I eventually found the π markings. Followed those the rest of the way until I got to 225 where the road turns off back to Concord, but I stayed on 225 to get to Minuteman as it was already 4:30.
Would easily have made a century if I could have gotten my act together and gotten out of the house before 11.
But it was a fantastic day. Very hot (90+) and breezy at times. Lots of climbing around Stow and Boxborough. Met a couple riders from Worcester at an intersection in Littleton. Felt good all the way, but I’m also aware this is the longest ride of the season so far. (78mi).
Probably another ride on Sunday. Saturday is some sort of festival on the Esplanade and Guster is playing, so I’d like to see that.
