Renovations, June 26
Nothing happened yesterday. Well, nothing w/r/t renovations anyway. I went to Watertown to order more tile, and tried to buy something at Restoration Hardware, but the sales critter was a jerk, so I left. Not sure if I’ll go back there or not. Certainly not when he’s there.
I called the builder guy to talk about how to cover the gap at the bottom of the tub, and he said he planned on building a step. Problem solved! These guys are good! So I went to Watertown to order some cove base tile to cover the front of the step. That should be here either tomorrow or Friday. They’ll be ready for it tomorrow.
Today I worked at my client site, so I wasn’t home all day, but they made great progress. The shower surround is nearly finished, just the top to go. The kitchen floor is also nearly done, just about three more feet to go. I had planned on putting a diamond pattern in the floor, but when he looked at the tile, he said that if he cut it, it would look cut, so the diamond may not work. He suggested the staggered pattern to match the backsplash. I think the result looks mighty fine.
Tomorrow they’ll finish the shower and kitchen, and do the bathroom floor. The toilet will have to be removed for that, so I’ll have to move out for a day or so. Zoom zoom zoom.
