Renovations, June 27
Today, the kitchen floor was grouted, the shower surround ceiling was tiled and the bathroom floor was tiled. I ran to Chestnut hill to pick up the bathroom mirror and sconces, and to Watertown to pick up the last of the tile. Somehow I have to get time to get to Walpole to pick out my stone for the countertop!
The plan is to install the cabinets on Friday or Monday, so the appliances can be delivered on Tuesday and countertop template can be made Thursday or Friday (as Wednesday is the 4th). Tomorrow is grouting the shower and bathroom floor. Maybe install the toilet although that may wait for Friday.
The means I need to go buy a garbage disposal by then. I’ll need a ceiling light, too, but since the ceiling isn’t supposed to be shipped until 7/7, I’ve got a bit of time for that. Not much, but a little. I should go to that place in Sullivan Square the electrician was talking about. There used to be a place at Assembly Square as well. I think that’s about all I have left to buy, other than sundries like towel holders and things like that.
In other news, it seems the A/C unit in my office has died. Need to get another one of those tonight.
