More puppy tumor news
Made an appointment with Dr. Turek at the oncology department at Angell Memorial. It’s for Wed Oct 5, two weeks from today. Who knew there would be such a backlog?
I talked with “Gary” about the paperwork from South Bay. There may be something else going on here too. He said the test results showed “Spindle Cell Tumor”. I said I was told it was Hemangiopericytoma and he said “those cells were there too”. Now I’m confused. Are these two names for the same thing or are there two problems here? It’s not clear to me what a “spindle cell tumor” is. Teh Intarwab is not being much help. It seems to be some sort of generic catch-all description of the shape, or maybe a type of cell that appears almost anywhere. Following links at that definition eventually lands you at “squamous cell” which is “flat thin cells found in the outer layer of the skin,” so maybe that’s the little bumps that are on the top of the big tumor.
But who knows. I guess I’ll just have to wait to find out.
