Yojimbo
Director: Akira Kurosawa
Year: 1961
Samurai Sanjuro Kuwabatake (Toshiro Mifune) bops around looking for food and finds himself in a town with rival factions bent on each others destruction. He finds both groups are basically cowards and offers his services to the highest bidder in an attempt to get them to destroy each other. He is successful, but at a very high price.
Some excellent swordplay and a few laughs along the way. Said to be the prototype for Clint Eastwood’s Fist Full of Dollars.
