Peril at End House by Agatha Christie

[MBLN] [amazon]

Poirot and Captain Hastings are vacationing in the seaside town of St. Loo, when Miss Nick Buckley is shot at in the garden of the hotel where they are staying. Poirot leaps to the defense of the fair damsel and tries to discover who shot at her and protect her from harm after he discovers a series of events that have threatened her life.

Fairly good story, although the key piece of information is weak. A fair number of twists keeps it interesting, and it’s another good exposition on the quirky character of Poirot. Ostensibly written by Hastings, his Watson.
