Back on the Road

Finally got back out on the road again today. Did the Minuteman out and back. I’d forgotten, though, that the Paul Dudley White Bike Path is closed on this side of the Charles, so had to backtrack and hoof it over the pedestrian bridge at BU, then up Comm Ave, over the BU Bridge, then out Memorial Drive. Yuck. What an awful bunch of roads. I’ll either have to find some other way or take the T from now on, that’s just ridiculous. Since it’s up to DCR to repair it, I’m sure it will be done sometime around 2045.

Quite breezy, bordering on windy. Trail wasn’t in bad shape, though. Sometimes this time of year it’s full of sand, but maybe it’s been blown away. Still, at 70 degrees and fairly sunny, anything is a good day.

Felt pretty good, but could tell I haven’t been on the bike in quite a while. I need to toughen up contact points again, particularly my hands.

I kept looking at the clock wondering if I had time to go a little farther, then remembering I don’t have to watch the clock any more.

So what part of the bike path is closed???

It’s block starting at the BU Boathouse. At least I think it’s the BU Boathouse. It starts at the wooden walkway that goes under the BU Bridge (and tracks). I’m not sure where it ends on the other side, but I assume at least River Street (or Western Ave, I get those two mixed up).

I got to the wooden walkway and had to turn around and go back to the BU pedestrian bridge that goes to Marsh Chapel.
