Hack hack and a dilema

Well, yesterday’s ride seems to have brought back my cough. Will I never be rid of this thing?

I got a note yesterday that registration is open for Seacoast Century in Hampton Beach. This is one of the rides I usually do, but I’m thinking of cutting out most of the planned centuries. Mostly because of gas prices, car rental prices have gone up again and again to the point now where a full day Zipcar rental is $78 and is scheduled to go up again at the middle of the month. I don’t think I can justify that.

I usually do four: Tour de Cure Portsmouth, Kings Tour of the Quabbin, Outriders, and Seacoast. I also usually do the spring and fall CRW rides, but only the 100k. I can get to the spring on in Wakefield by train, and I can ride to the fall on in So. Acton in time for the 100k start. I did the Flattest once, but it’s a bit too far away and I’d have to stay overnight. I’ll still do Outriders at it starts just down the street from here, and it’s a great weekend away.

So I have to decide which, if any, of these to do, especially considering they’ll each be at least $100 for the ride. Not sure I’m up for that.

Todd, remind me of where you live (LTolman at LTolman dot org) and I’ll see if we have someone who could drive you & your bike to the King’s Tour of the Quabbin, June 14. We have people coming from all over. Online registration is at http://www.sevenhillswheelmen.org/quabbin
