I’m knackered

Got out for about 50 miles yesterday. It was way, way colder than I thought. I took my jacket but not knee warmers, and it was mighty chilly on the return. Maybe that’s why I’m so stiff today. But for only 50 miles, I shouldn’t be this tired.

Still, it was a pretty day, the sun was out as were many people. I did northwest loop, up the Minuteman, to Carlisle (taking the Skelton Road route) then down to Concord and back through Lexington via Mass Ave (2A).

Got a sandwich at what used to be Carberrys in Arlington and ate it at Bedford Depot (apple, brie & baby spinach-MMmmm MMmmm). The depot building has been totally stripped and gutted. I hope they do a good job, it looks a mess right now. A woman at the depot was asking people about her bike, which she said had been assembled at the bike shop. I don’t know what bike shop it was, but she shouldn’t go back there. It was an accident waiting to happen. So another guy with a CRW jersey and I got her squared away so she woudn’t kill herself and told her what she needed to do when she got home.

Saw a woman with a TdC jersey at Lexington Green, so chatted with her for a bit. She does a couple per year: Mt. Desert Island and Kennebunk. Her goal is NEC next year. Hurray!

But the result of this ride is clear: I need to get out more. Outriders is only six weeks away, and NEC is only three weeks after that.
