Enjoy the rest of the trip!

p.s. What the hell? My Google Reader must have been broken, as I hadn't gotten any update notifications about this site since June *freakin* 12th.

After five days with no response, I call and this is what they say.

They did actually receive the e-mail. There "should have been" a confirmation e-mail so that I know it didn't go into the ether. There was not. She researched it, talked with her supervisor, and said they'd send it over to "revenue", and if the "investigation" proves out, I will have a refund in four to six weeks. In the form of a Charlie Ticket with a completely useless value of $1.70. It takes $2.00 on a ticket to get on a subway train. So the only way to use it is to add money and overpay (again) by 30 cents. Or, you can pay a fare, go to Downtown Crossing and have the customer service booth move the money on the ticket to the card. Of course, it takes $1.70 to get to the customer service booth, so that's rather pointless unless you happen to be going through Downtown Crossing (which I rarely do).

It's a racket.

One week ago? Just on Thursday it was drizzly and chilly. I for one am enjoying the heat, though I can't imagine doing anything more strenuous than pulling weeds from around the tomatoes today. I find myself slipping into my North Carolina patters of hiding indoors from about noon until about 4 or 5, moving as little as possible....
